hotelWilliam Hughes graduated from Milwaukee School of the Arts in 1979. Since then he has maintained a studio in Milwaukee, working in both oils and pastels. He has exhibited throughout Wisconsin as well as in Chicago, Illinois and Hotchkiss, Colorado. William's creative process involves layers of memory and experience, generating images too complex to relegate to mere resemblance. Consequently, the viewer may perceive his work as both representational and abstract.
