Jeff Darrow

villa terraceJeff was raised on a farm near Shullsburg, a community in southwestern Wisconsin. As a youth he enjoyed the long hot summers in the country where the air, trees and time seemed to stand still and changes came grudgingly slow. Drawing before, during and after his chores was the norm. Although his work has that same stillness in time, he tackles the subject matter with urgency, knowing it will not last.

Already, in much of his hometown and surrounding areas, many farms and building have been converted to condominiums or reduced to scrap iron.

Jeff studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
